CLINICAL INFORMATION :

59 year-old woman. Transvenous liver biopsy. Cholestasis. Normal pressure. PBC ?


HISTOLOGY :

  • Steatosis
  • On serial slides : typical bile duct lesion (Fig. 38) :
    -    interruption of the basal membrane of the bile duct
    -    anisonucleosis of the epithelium
    -    epithelial vacuolisation
    -    intraepithelial lymphocytic infiltration
    -    peripheral lymphocytic infiltrate

==> Primary biliary cirrhosis (stade 1)
